The African Penguin

The African Penguin (Spheniscus demersus) are endemic to the coast of South Africa and Namibia and breeds in colonies. Like all penguins, it is flightless, with a streamlined body and wings stiffened and flattened into flippers for a marine habitat. It has an extended breeding season, with nesting usually peaking from March to May in South Africa and from November to December in Namibia.amcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

These monogamous birds often have one partner at a time, although the relationship may not be for life. During the breeding season, they nest in burrows, guano, or under bushes – anywhere shady and safe. A clutch of two eggs is laid and incubated for approximately 40 days before hatching. Both parents take turns incubating the eggs and feeding the chicks.
